Khwai Bush Camp is a dedicated family camp situated on a beautiful site within a community-run concession along the eastern border of Moremi Game Reserve in Botswana's Okavango Delta. The camp accepts children of all ages and offers special children's activities such as bush walks with specialist guides.
The camp is built on the banks of the Khwai River and is nestled amongst a forest of sycamore and leadwood trees. The surrounding area hosts a variety of ecosystems from enchanted forests and undulating grasslands to lush floodplains and meandering lagoons. It is ideal for year-round wildlife encounters of lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, buffalo, elephant, hippo, giraffe and many more. Families can not only enjoy game drives but also night drives and guided walking safaris, not normally permitted in the National Parks.
Khwai Bush Camp consists of 4 standard and 2 family chalets built on raised decking with 180-degree views of the lagoon in front of camp and beyond into the Moremi Game Reserve. The rooms all have en suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers and flush toilets. The camp is run with a full solar power farm and a sewerage purity system to ensure that 80% of all the water used in camp is recyclable.
A 30-minute light aircraft flight from Maun or a 1-hour light aircraft flight from Kasane into Khwai Airstrip. The camp is a 30-minute drive from the airstrip.
Game drives, guided walks, bird watching, night drives, mokoro safaris (seasonal when water levels permit, children's activities, and cultural tours of local villages.
