Situated on the edge of the vast and mysterious Makgadikgadi Salt Pans San Camp is God's own minimalism. Turn 360° and nothing crosses the eye but the bowl of the sky. It is the only place where you are virtually guaranteed to see the rare and elusive brown hyaena and be able to walk through the Kalahari with a gang of habituated but, wild meerkats!
Run almost entirely on solar energy San Camp provides 6 classic white tents which stand majestically on the shore of an enormous sparkling salt pan, each sheltered by a cluster of stately desert palms. Facilities include a mess tent which contains a small natural history museum and library, a tea tent spread with cushions providing a sheltering sanctuary and a tented yoga pavilion.
Unique desert species, expert guiding, incredibly friendly habituated meerkats, old-world safari styling and superb cuisine all come together to create an experience that is completely different to any other.
San Camp is a short light aircraft flight from Maun or Kasane.
Get up close and personal with the family of meerkats, walk with Zu/'hoasi Bushmen trackers, game drive in search unique desert wildlife, visit Chapman's Baobab or relax in the yoga pavilion.

Probably the most stylish camp, intimate with great staff and unbelievable food. Less variety of wildlife, but a stunning landscape - even though we couldn't get to the centre of the pans due to recent rain
