Savuti Camp

Janice Lappin

This is a well positioned camp with the main areas overlooking the river. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms very clean, large and comfortable. The food was good, although meal times were a bit different to other camps we had been in, light breakfast before morning drives them brunch when you arrived back, followed by afternoon tea prior to the afternoon drive. This did make it a long time between brunch and dinner, although afternoon tea was ample. We were very fortunate to be upgraded to a family suit which was two large rooms joined by a small walkway and quite close to the main area, very lucky. The wildlife viewing was great, the most remarkable seeing a very large pack of wild dog feeding on a kill. The only disconcerting thing was the elephants seemed quite aggressive here compared to other camps I had stayed in, which left me a little nervous.
