The Selinda Adventure Trail is a 5 day / 4 night exploration safari experience along Botswana's Selinda Spillway, the area linking the Okavango Delta to the west and the Linyanti Swamps to the east. Depending on water levels at the time of arrival, this exploration offers either a canoeing and walking adventure or pure walking safari experience.
The canoe option entails a traditional canoe and walking safari where you will follow the course and side channels of the Selinda Spillway, while the pure guided walking experience will take you along sections of the Spillway and inland portions of the famous Selinda Reserve. Both options involve a start at Selinda Airstrip where you will be met and transferred by helicopter to the remote starting point of your adventure.
Along either route you can expect to come across many species of wildlife. The Reserve is known for some of Botswana's largest herds of buffalo and elephant, roan antelope and African wild dog. Other animal sightings may include cheetah, lion, leopard, over 300 bird species and many more.
Guests are accommodated in fly camps at pre-arranged sites along the journey. There will be a team of staff on hand to put up the tents and help with the cooking and camp chores such as setting up the screened, bucket showers with hot and cold water. The tents are walk-in 3m x 2.4m Flex-Bow tents comfortable enough for two people.
Each departure is guaranteed with a minimum of two guests and accommodates a maximum of 8 guests sharing in 4 tents.
We recommend that you elect to stay on for an additional night or two after the you have completed the Selinda Adventure Trail at either Selinda Explorers Camp, Selinda Camp or Zarafa Camp.
