This remote tented camp is found in the captivating wilderness of the Selinda Reserve, a 320,000 acre slice of wilderness. Found in the shade of a riverine forest this is a classic camp offering a rustic and back-to-nature safari experience. Perfect for those searching for an adventure, Explorers Camp is positioned on the Selinda Spillway, which feeds the area and is a popular draw for wildlife.
A small camp, there are only 3 tents and a 2 bedroom family tent found at Explorers. In no way ostentatious, these simple tents provide an authentic vision of Africa as experienced by the explorers of old. Each tent offers an en-suite with an open air bathroom that consists of flush toilets and on-tap solar showers. Relax on your small veranda area in-between activities and look out upon the Selinda Spillway for some casual game viewing.
The area is known for its buffalo, elephant and lion sightings, with some guests lucky enough to see rare African wild dog too. Taking to the waters of the Selinda Spillway itself is possible with exciting canoe safaris. Gentle paddling along the channel pairs well with thrilling 4x4 game drives into the surrounding wilderness. The vehicle has been specially designed to provide only the best game viewing with superb all-round visibility.
A 45 minute flight from Maun and a 50 minute flight from Kasane to the Selinda Airstrip followed by a 45 minute game drive to camp.
Early morning and late afternoon/early evening game activities to suit, including guided walking safaris, canoeing trips and game drives where required in open 4x4 vehicles.
