The benefit of being one of the Okavango Delta's oldest camps ensures guests staying at Xakanaxa Camp will experience well honed service and a definite sense of history. Located in the north of the Moremi Game Reserve and offering a very high level of game viewing the camp is cleverly designed; jutting out over the Khwai River and raised high off the ground to take advantage of the captivating views. Built from thatch and local wood the camp is intimately designed but provides plenty of space to relax and make the most of the beautiful surrounds.
Guests can enjoy the use of the property's large sundeck and plunge pool for some well-deserved relaxation or spend some alone time in the library tucked away with a good book. The dining room offers a delicious selection of cuisine while the fire deck is the perfect place to gather round of an evening and reminisce on the day's activities with the other guests.
The camp provides electricity during the day but at night guests are provided with candles, battery powered and paraffin lamps; lending to a pleasing layer of authenticity to the experience of a stay here. Accommodation takes the form of 12 en-suite safari tents, all of which feature a shower, toilet and a fan to stay cool.
A 25 minute light aircraft flight from Maun or a 1 hour flight from Kasane into the Xakanaxa airstrip.
Mokoro rides, bird watching, boating, picnics and game drives.
