Xigera Camp

Reopening in June 2020 after being rebuilt, Xigera Safari Logge (pronounced Keejera) provides the feeling of living in the midst of a riverine forest. Set on one of the key waterways of the Okavango Delta in the Moremi Game Reserve, Xigera is set in what is truly a wetland paradise.

The lodge is surrounded by deep channels and lush riverine vegetation, and the surrounding area hosts a wealth of wildlife. Guests can expect to see red lechwe, elephant, buffalo, lion, spotted hyena, leopard and the highest density of the rare sitatunga antelope in the Delta. The lodge is also a wonderful place for guests that enjoy birding.

Xigera offers 11 luxuriously appointed suites and one Family Suite, all including an outdoor shower. Each of the rooms is raised on wooden platforms and walkways and offers superb views of the river. Guests can take in the sights and sounds from the outdoor daybed on their private deck or by the main swimming pool. Canvas tented roofs and modern amenities, such as air conditioning, combine to make the suites perfect for an African safari experience.

Meals are enjoyed in the dining area, overlooking a permanently flowing channel or under the stars in a traditional African boma. Guests have access to the gym and Wellness Centre, the spa, the bar and wine cellar, an air-conditioned library and the star deck.

Getting There

Xigera is an approximately 30 minute flight from Maun and 1 hr 25 flight from Kasane. The camp is a 20 minute drive from Xigeria airstrip.

Whilst the emphasis at Xigera is on water activities (mokoro canoes and motor boat, depending on water levels), daytime game drives are offered all year round.
