The site felt a bit older, but still wonderful. Finally saw good leopard - three in a small area all eyeing each other. You know its good when the guide gets his camera out. Kept being surrounded by elephants at the lodge. once you get a bit more relaxed to seeing an elephant from, say, ten foot away through a fly screen, you start to realise quite what an amazing thing you are seeing.

Would give them a 5 except for a lack of any way to communicate between rooms. Maybe walkie talkie's or something - having small children alone by themselves with no communication is a concern considering the amount of animals that roam the camp. Made a big deal about our anniversary which was appreciated.

Loved this place so much - probably our favourite as it is so small and intimate. Loved the guide here - Moses and all the staff were special, especially George and our room maid. They made us feel very special here. Beautiful canoe ride. Such fantastic game drives - lion kill when we first arrived, African dogs, lighting storm (with us in the middle watching but safe and animals going crazy in the storm on the plains)

All the same comments as above. Immaculate accommodation, great game drives morning and late afternoon. Plus we saw the leopard - a highlight.

The Xudum Lodge was definitely more luxurious than Nxabega but in some ways I preferred Nxabega Lodge and, whilst the staff were very friendly, I felt the staff at Nxabega were friendlier. Not to distract from the good food at Nxabega but the food at Xudum was more gourmet. They had the most amazing chef at Xudum. It wasn't as easy to be together as a group in Xudum as each room was very much self contained but I'm sure some members of the group enjoyed a bit of privacy and time away from everyone.

This really is 5 star in the bush! We ate far too well! Beautiful accommodation. Again the staff were fantastic - all the butlers excellent, and really good with the children who spent ages swapping riddles with them. Thabo and Bro wee really excellent. Lunch in the bush after one of the most amazing game drives (leopard and, separately, 4 lion cubs posing on a rock for us)was quite unforgettable.

The most luxurious of our rooms - wonderfully designed lodge with incredibly large rooms - actually they're more like wooden chalets - upstairs lounge area was great - overlooking the Delta and watching Xudu roam freely was just great. Also you have a fantastic bath area (stand alone bath and both an indoor and outdoor shower) - very modern design. Outdoor lounge area with private plunge pool was a great touch. The main area of the lounge is absolutely beautiful - the food here was absolutely fantastic and again the staff were simply incredible. One of the great things about this lodge is the way in which they cleverly recycle materials - the oil drum private bar in your room, the tyre and beer can tables were something else!

A shame we only managed to stay for one night instead of the scheduled 2! Staff (and chef) very welcoming.
