Uganda Family Holidays

Explore Uganda Family Holidays

Uganda may not be the first country that springs to mind when one is planning a family holiday, however, for those families seeking a totally unique, off-the-beaten-track holiday, Uganda certainly fits the bill.

Uganda is for families who thrive on adventure and is probably most suited to teens and older children. With its incredible lush scenery, an abundance of wildlife, friendly locals and host of thrilling activities you will be sure to gather memories that will remain for a lifetime.

The gorilla trekking experience is often to be the ultimate thrill and if your teens are over the age of 15 years it will be something they will never forget. As well as gorillas there are the highly entertaining chimps to see as well as more traditional wildlife in parks across the country including the unique tree climbing lions of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Uganda is relatively new to tourism so the staff at Mahlatini have spent a lot of time in the country vetting hotels and lodges and seeking out ones that are particularly suited to families offering family rooms or at the very least the flexibility required to accommodate children or teens. Uganda can involve long journeys and often requires an adaptable attitude but the interactions with the wonderful Ugandans will teach lessons in humility and ensure a truly memorable and rewarding family holiday.

Matt picked us up at our guesthouse in Kampala and left us back there 2 days later. In between he took us to Murchison Falls National Park and we stayed at Paraa Lodge. Whaooo!! Game drives on your doorstep, lots of animals right up close, the Falls only a river cruise away. More than surpassed our expectations as a family with 3 teenagers. Well done Mahlatini!
