This characterful hotel features airy interiors, arched colonnades, and lush courtyards. Embracing a "less is more" philosophy that reflects the social culture of its time, its minimalistic interiors present a simple yet elegant aesthetic. With its unique combination of historical significance and modern comforts, Maison Perumal offers an enchanting retreat for those eager to immerse themselves in the vibrant local culture.

The rooms are elegantly simple, featuring terracotta flooring, period furnishings, whitewashed walls, and crisp white linens. Adorned with a blend of black-and-white photographs and vibrant local artwork, each space exudes a sense of character. All rooms are air-conditioned, and two offer twin beds, making them ideal for friends traveling together or older children. While Maison Perumal does not have a swimming pool or spa, its dining experience is exceptional, with a strong emphasis on locally sourced produce and an abundance of fresh seafood. There are cooking demonstrations for those who wish to learn more about South Indian cooking. The surrounding French and Tamil quarters are perfect for exploration by cycle rickshaw or through heritage walks. The town is also a shopper’s paradise, featuring art galleries, antique shops, delightful eateries, and vibrant local markets.
