Taj Connemara

Originally the 18th-century garden house of the Nawab of Arcot, the Taj Connemara is Chennai’s only heritage hotel. This iconic establishment has undergone a few renovations, notably in the 1930s when the interiors were enhanced with an Art Deco style. Today, it embodies the essence of an international five-star hotel. With beautifully manicured gardens, a large, inviting swimming pool, and 147 elegantly decorated rooms and suites, it serves as the perfect base for exploring Chennai.

The rooms and suites at Taj Connemara are among the most spacious in the city. Decorated in neutral tones, they feature wooden furnishings and thoughtfully selected artworks. The rooms in the heritage wing showcase period furniture and boast high ceilings. The hotel offers two restaurants and a bar: Raintree serves exquisite Tamil and Chettinad cuisine in an al fresco setting, while The Verandah provides all-day dining options. The Lady Connemara Bar & Lounge features a wide selection of drinks and light snacks. Leisure amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a 24-hour fitness center, a beauty salon, and a spa that offers various treatments, including aromatherapy massages and therapies rooted in Ayurveda.
