The Bangala

The Bangala is a family-owned heritage hotel in the heart of Chettinad, Tamil Nadu, offering a delightful blend of traditional South Indian hospitality and colonial-era charm. The 25 rooms spread throughout the gardens each have their own charm and character, ensuring that no two are exactly alike. They are simple yet spotlessly clean, featuring polished floors, antique furniture, whitewashed walls, and old family photographs. Dining at The Bangala is a highlight, with the kitchen preparing dishes that have been cherished and passed down through generations. For food enthusiasts, the chefs offer private masterclasses in Chettinad cuisine, along with afternoon cooking demonstrations. Guests will find ample space to unwind, whether it’s enjoying a good book in the gardens or relaxing by the swimming pool. The hotel also features a small gym, and yoga classes and massages can be arranged upon request.
