Oberoi Amarvilas

The most luxurious hotel in Agra, and one of India’s most celebrated hotels, The Oberoi Amarvillas is inspired by Mughal palace designs. Only 600m from the Taj Mahal, all the hotel’s rooms offer unrestricted views of India’s most famous attraction. The interiors are stylish with beautiful, handcrafted details, rich textiles, and intricate marblework. It’s an oasis in a chaotic city, its multi-level pool, landscaped gardens, spa, and atmospheric restaurants, all a welcome retreat after a busy day exploring the Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, and the ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri.

All 102 rooms have a butler on-call, king size beds with traditional teak Indian bed frames, oversized headboards covered in Mughal-inspired designed, silk cushions and marble ensuite bathrooms. The Kohinoor Suite is the jewel in the crown at 275 square metres and offering the best views. There’s all day dining at the international restaurant or the option of sampling delectable Mughal cuisine at Esphahan Restaurant. You may also wish to have a candlelit dinner beside the pool or on your private balcony.  The spa offers a full range of Ayurvedic, Thai and Western treatments. Yoga sessions and meditation are also on offer.
