Once the holiday retreat of the Prime Minister of Nepal, Suryauday Haveli offers a rare oasis of tranquillity amid the bustling chaos of Varanasi. Accessible by boat along the iconic ghats of Banaras, the hotel is also linked by narrow alleys and streets leading to the renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple. With beautiful views of the river and Shivala Ghat, it’s the ideal location to watch the sunset.

The rooms and suites feature large beds with intricately carved headboards, dark wood furnishings, and local artwork. The Ganges View Rooms and the Shivala Suite offer views of the Ganges. The traditional Hindu chef prepares vegetarian dishes, creating meals each evening without a set menu to showcase authentic Indian cuisine from across the continent. Light snacks and drinks are available on the rooftop terrace, an ideal spot for early morning yoga sessions led by a trained instructor or for unwinding in the evening while watching the sunset.
