The Imperial

Reminiscent of a 19th-century Indian palace, The Imperial New Delhi opened in 1936 as the city’s first hotel. A Grand Dame of the East, its architecture subtly blends Victorian, Art Deco, and Lutyens styles. Featuring white marble colonnades, verdant gardens, and rooms with Italian marble floors, polished Burma teak, Persian carpets, antique chandeliers, and rosewood furniture, it offers rich heritage, exceptional service, and modern comforts.

The 235 rooms and suites are spread across eight floors. The Imperial Rooms with a Garden View offers high ceilings and larger beds than the entry-level Deco rooms. The Heritage and Grand Heritage rooms are more spacious, with the Suites featuring a separate lounge. In the hotel’s beautifully manicured gardens lies a large swimming pool which provides welcome respite after a day exploring the iconic sights of Delhi. There is also a gym and a spa offering Ayurvedic and Western treatments. The hotel boasts four restaurants, including the very well-regarded Spice Route. With three bars you are spoilt for choice for a post-dinner nightcap.
