Neeleshwar Hermitage

Neeleshwar Hermitage is a serene beach hideaway in Northern Kerala, known for its empty beaches fringed by coconut plantations, peaceful inland waterways and lush hillside spice gardens. Sitting just metres back from a beautiful beach, there are just 18 thatched cottages amongst lush gardens. The Ayurvedic spa, huge infinity pool, luxuriant gardens and delicious variety of food in 2 restaurants all combine to induce a sense of complete relaxation and harmonious wellbeing. 

The cottages are surrounded by frangipani and banana trees, coconut groves and hibiscus flowers. Modelled on traditional fishermen’s huts, there are sea-view cottages, private pool cottages and garden cottages. A veranda fronts each cottage, and the interiors are light-filled and airy. The bathrooms are particularly special, being partly open to the sky, with some having frangipani trees growing right through them. For dining there are 2 restaurants, Annapurna, which is roofed by coconut palms and open on all side, serves a mix of Indian, Middle Eastern and European flavours. Meenakshi Restaurant is close to the pool and beach and is perfect for a light seafood lunch. For relaxation on the property you can unwind in the Priya Spa, laze by the infinity pool, practice yoga or stroll along the virtually deserted beach. Further afield you can go cycling, birdwatching, go on boat trips or even opt for a 1–2-night backwater cruise on a luxury houseboat. There's also a unique cultural programme of lectures, concerts and guided tours of local temples
