Jamtara Wilderness Camp draws inspiration from the surrounding wilderness, the local community, and the majestic ancient Banyan tree at its heart. With sustainability woven into every aspect, Jamtara offers discerning travellers an authentic and enriching wildlife experience. Expect thoughtfully designed tents, delicious local cuisine, captivating campfire conversations, and expertly guided safaris led by seasoned naturalists.

Each of the ten luxury tents is strategically positioned to offer unobstructed views of nature. With tent flaps rolled up, one can sit on the patio overlooking a dry riverbed where deer often graze and birds indulge in mud baths. Simple yet exceptionally comfortable, the tents also include en-suite bathrooms housed within a more permanent structure. The camp’s central hub is a white-washed building near the sprawling Banyan tree, serving as a library, dining area, and reception. A large freeform swimming pool nearby offers a refreshing break from the heat between game drives. Every evening, drinks and snacks are enjoyed in a cosy fireside setting, where stories of the day’s wildlife sightings are shared before a delicious dinner. Jamtara’s standout feature is the unique star bed, styled like a traditional machaan—a raised wooden bed used by local farmers in the fields to keep a watchful eye on their livestock.
