Built in 1890, a former royal palace, Jehan Numa Palace is a stunning heritage hotel in Bhopal. Offering a taste of royal Bhopali hospitality and cuisine the palace has elegant architecture and character interiors with pretty gardens and walkways. Its location provides easy access to the wildlife parks of Madhya Pradesh with all the comforts of a palace stay.

The palace is a white structure that melds British Colonial, Italian Renaissance and Classical Greek architecture. The interiors blend vintage colonial furniture, and beautifully patterned marble floors with historic Indian artefacts. The gardens contain romantic nooks studded with white wrought iron benches and tables, overhung with blushing pink rose bushes and red bougainvillea. The city noises are completely muffled and bird song wafts on the breeze at all hours of the day. The rooms feel opulent and are laced with elegant décor. The 100 well-equipped rooms are divided into various categories, and it’s worth considering one of the higher-tier options, like the Regal and Imperial rooms or suites. These rooms are only slightly more expensive but offer a much more luxurious experience. There is a lovely swimming pool surrounded by soaring palms, a modern gym, a small spa, and four restaurants. One standout is the trendy Caféchino, with the ambiance of a European terrace café. The Under the Mango Tree Restaurant, situated in the central courtyard, comes highly recommended for its delicious royal Bhopali cuisine.
