Only a 20-minute drive away from the vast Queen Elizabeth National Park, Katara Lodge is a small, cosy lodge that boasts sweeping views of the surrounding savannah plains. With a diversity of habitats and scenery, including papyrus swamps, forest and the impressive Kyambura Gorge, you are treated to around 600 species of bird and almost 100 species of mammal.
The lodge offers 8 thatched cottages in total, 7 of which are standard and 1 of which is for families. The bedroom and lounge areas are combined and a veranda has a special feature; you can opt to have your bed wheeled out onto the veranda and sleep out under the African stars. Bathrooms boast a rain shower and a roll-top bath, hot water is provided via solar power. The lodge is quite eco-friendly, with a saltwater pool and electricity and lighting supplied by solar power.

Adventure Holiday to Katara Lodge
Beautiful location and sprawling views over QE Country Park with equally impressive sunsets. The grounds were very pretty and rooms were really nice. It was lovely to have a bath and longer showers thanks to the solar heaters! Getting down to the park was challenging due to the very poor condition …
