When you are not visiting the Taj Mahal at sunrise, you will be tracking tigers in Ranthambore, exploring Jaipur’s exotic pink city, discovering off the beaten track gems in rural Rajasthan, and marveling at Udaipur’s palaces on a boat ride on Lake Pichola.
There are 6 stops on this north Indian adventure starting in the capital New Delhi with a stay at the homely Colonel’s Retreat. Immerse yourself on private tours of its most famous sights including the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. After a short train journey from Delhi to Agra you will stay at the comfortable 4-star Trident, where you will explore Agra Fort and make 2 trips to the magnificent Taj Mahal. Next, Khem Villas will help immerse you in the rich wildlife of India as you track tigers at Ranthambore National Park. Between jeep safaris you can also visit the atmospheric Ranthambore Fort, if of interest.
A 4-hour drive will then take you from the countryside to vibrant, historic Jaipur where you will stay at the iconic Samode Haveli. Explore the old pink city with your guide and visit honey-coloured Amber Fort. Next, travel into the rural heartland of Rajasthan to stay at the fabulous Rawla Narlai, a 17th-century manor house. Your free time here can be spent searching for leopards, private dining at a 1000-year-old step well, and exploring the stark beauty of the Aravalli hills on foot or by jeep. The final stop is Udaipur. Your hotel, the Taj Fateh Prakash Palace, is located within the City Palace complex on the edge of Lake Pichola. Explore this unique city on foot and by car, before enjoying a leisurely evening boat ride on Lake Pichola.
