Start your adventure in Bhaktapur, a medieval town in the Kathmandu Valley. Offering a gentler introduction to Nepal than Kathmandu, Bhaktapur is known for its well-preserved traditional Newari architecture and superb mountain views. Move on to the steamy jungles of Chitwan National Park where you will track tiger and rhino, as well as other animals, on your jeep safaris. Canoe on the river where you can expect to see gharial and mugger crocodiles, as well as plenty of bird species.
Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna range of the Himalaya, is next. Stay at the superb Sarangkot Mountain Lodge with incredible views out to some of the world’s highest peaks, including the iconic ‘fishtail’, Macchapuchare. Visit the International Mountain Museum, Peace Pagoda, hike in the mountains, and take a boat ride on Phewa Lake. Head to Kathmandu, the last leg of your journey, and explore this fascinating city where the ancient and ultra-modern collide head-on. Explore Patan, old Kathmandu, and join the many devotees in walking around atmospheric Boudhnath Stupa. This exciting, varied itinerary leaves no stone unturned and will provide a great many memories to cherish.
