Start your adventure in the vibrant melting pot that is Mumbai, a gigantic city home to an estimated 22m people. Stay at the iconic Taj Mahal Palace hotel in the exciting Colaba district and explore the main sights such as the Victoria Terminus and Dhobi ghats with a local guide. From Mumbai fly into central India to explore Tadoba National Park – widely considered the best place in India to see tigers in their natural habitat. Compared to the better-known parks in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, Tadoba receives a trickle of visitors and as such the infrastructure is less developed. Svasara Jungle Lodge is very simple but is about 100m from the park gates and the naturalist team there are superb. Your chances of seeing tigers at Tadoba are very high, but the park is also home to many other interesting animals, reptiles, and birds. With a lot of luck, you may also see the resident black panther! You will have five game drives by jeep.
Return to Mumbai before flying on to the Maldives where you will spend 6 nights at the Vakkaru Maldives in a beach villa with plunge pool. The Maldives is as beautiful as in the photographs, with squeaky white sand, crystal clear water, and swaying palm trees. Spend your days dining on sumptuous food, being pampered in the spa, and snorkelling over colourful reefs.
