Your river adventure starts with three nights at Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge, as the name suggests this was built for the first Zambian president and retains much of its original colonial style. From a hilltop position, the elegantly furnished Victorian style suites give excellent views over game-rich valleys and the Luangwa River. This area of South Luangwa is the home of the walking safari, on foot the lodge guides can show you some truly fascinating sights that are hard to spot from a vehicle.
Your next stop is the mighty Zambezi River and a two night stay at Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma. This beautiful lodge is only 12 kilometres from Victoria Falls and on a dramatic bend of the Zambezi River. The luxury tree houses are built in the ebony tree canopy lining the riverbank and all have their own private viewing deck. From this lodge, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to activities take your pick from elephant back safaris, white water rafting, fishing (when in season) or the awesome Flight of the Angels helicopter over the Falls.
Your last river will be the Chobe River and an unforgettable stay at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero bordering the Chobe National Park, home to the largest concentration of elephants in Africa. Your days here can be spent on the river, on the land or in the spa and there is no better way to finish that day off than with a sundowner on one of the lodges specially designed riverboats as the buffalo and elephants come out of the shade to graze in the cooler evenings.
