Catch your overnight flight from Philadelphia International Airport to Johannesburg OR Tambo International
Upon arrival at Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport you will be met by a member of the Mahlatini team who will transfer you by road to Pretoria Station. On arrival you will check into your suite on-board the Rovos Rail. Today you will enjoy a day of leisure on board the train.
After breakfast today you will disembark for a tour of Kimberley Town. Famed for its diamond deposits, Kimberley was where the diamond company De Beers found it roots and grew into one of the biggest exporters of fine diamonds in the world. Ceceil Rhodes made his fortune in Kimberley, having been for a time the chairman of De Beers. Kimberley is also home to 'the Big Hole', where 150 years ago word spread that diamonds had been discovered and thousands of prospectors descended to make their fortune, leaving behind one of the largest hand-dug excavations in the world.
After breakfast this morning you'll walk through Uppington, a small town situated on the banks of the Orange River. Enjoy a spot of shopping and sightseeing before being transferred back to the train. This afternoon you will cross the border into Namibia
After breakfast you will be met and transferred to Fish River Canyon. This startlingly beautiful canyon is the largest canyon in Africa, second only in the world to the Grand Canyon. In the afternoon you'll traverse through the Kalahari, ending in the town of Keetmanshoop for a tour.
You'll arrive into Windhoek this morning where you will disembark for a tour. After your tour you will be transferred to the airport where you will board a light aircraft bound for Sossusvlei. You'll enjoy a desert drive and an overnight stay.
This morning you'll be up early, making your way to the incredible dunes of the Sossuvlei, home of big daddy! After visiting the dunes you'll enjoy a breakfast hamper in the famous Dead Vlei. This afternoon you will fly back to Windhoek where you will board the train bound for the game rich Etosha.
Today you will disembark for a game drive in Eothsa National Park, following this you'll be transferred to Mokuti Lodge for the evening.
After your morning game drive and breakfast you will be taken back to the train where you will enjoy lunch. Your afternoon journey offers incredible landscapes as you wind your way down from the wilds of Etosha to the stunning scenery of the Atlantic Coast.
After breakfast you'll arrive into Swakopmund where you will be met and transferred to the airport for your flight home.
