This 3-part family holiday beautifully combines all the highlights of Malawi combining 2 of the country’s most scenic national parks, Majete and Liwonde, followed by relaxation on the shores of Lake Malawi. Start your journey at Mkulumadzi Lodge on the banks of the Shire River in a private concession of the newly revitalised Majete Wildlife Reserve, part of Africa’s Great Rift Valley and the only official Big 5 park in Malawi. Enjoy game drives, boat trips on the Shire River, and visits to the nearby village.
From here you will journey to the incredible Liwonde National Park, famous for its huge herds of hippos. Keep an eye out for elephants, rhinos, and of course basking crocodiles along the Mvuu River. Partake in river cruises, game drives, walks, and night drives. Conclude your family safari at the family-friendly Pumulani Lodge in Lake Malawi or 'the Lake of Stars' as it’s known. Enjoy spending hours snorkeling through the pristine freshwater lake. Children will delight at the sight of colorful fish below and squawking fish eagles above.
