Kicheche Laikipia Camp is an intimate tented camp where Andy and Sonia play host to only 12 guests. Nestled at the foot of indigenous forest and overlooking a waterhole in the centre of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the camp affords stunning views of Mount Kenya.

Kicheche is located in the Wilderness zone of the Conservancy and with only one bed per 1,500 acres offers an incredibly private experience. Laikipia is home to Kenya's largest population of Black Rhino, elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard as well as rarer species such as Grevys Zebra, Jacksons Hartebeest and Beisa Oryx.

Laikipia Camp offers 6 splendid tents which are fully insect-proof with en-suite bathrooms and equipped with a dresser, flushing toilet and hot showers. A larger family tent is also available. There is a spacious well-furnished lounge and dining tent with fireplaces for cooler evenings. This main tent faces out upon a large waterhole and provides a great place to relax and observe the many happenings of the surrounding wilderness.

Getting There

30 minutes' drive from Nanyuki airstrip. There are daily connections from Nairobi on Air Kenya and Safarilink and onward scheduled flights to Samburu, Lewa and the Masai Mara. By road the drive from/to Nairobi takes approximately 4 hours.

Activities

Day and night game drives, walking safaris, interpretative Game walks, lion tracking and visits to the chimp sanctuary.

A beautiful camp with great views of Mount Kenya & wonderful wildlife. The rhino population is thriving. The accommodation is lovely, clean,spacious & very comfortable beds. The camp staff were lovely & looked after us extremely well, nothing was too much trouble. The food at every meal was superb, not only did it taste wonderful but looks great too.
