Located on the eastern corner of the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve, near the Ololamutiek Gate, Mara Sopa naturally blends into the hillside landscape of the Oloolamuita Valley. Sopa is Maasai for 'welcome' and the lodge lives up to its name with friendly service and 50 comfortable rooms. The property offers a number of facilities and a range of activities to enjoy nearby, with exciting game drives across the Mara plains and balloon safaris.
With traditional design, accommodation sports authentic thatched roofs and resemble the round Maasai buildings found in the area. Guests can choose between 88 double rooms a honeymoon suite and 12 suites. Each spacious room and suite has an elevated veranda offering guests a great view of the valley and somewhere private to relax in the sun in between activities.
The hotel restaurant is large and open, serving up buffet meals and some traditional dishes, with outdoor dining available on request. The lodge is surrounded by lush gardens and guests can take in their surrounds from the comfort of the lounge or with a relaxing dip in the swimming pool. Guests can also look forward to cultural dances from locals and a bushbaby feeding table.
