One Forty Eight is a boutique hotel located in the peaceful Nairobi suburb of Langata. Offering just 8 rooms, it's an ideal location to rest and relax before or after a safari. The hotel's tranquil surroundings are completely unique. You will share the garden with warthog, parrots, peacocks and monkeys which come and go freely. You may even hear lions and hyena from the nearby Nairobi National Park, the only major city in the world to share spaces with wildlife.
One Forty Eight comprises of the Main House, which houses 3 bedrooms and a converted loft for children, and 5 rooms in a converted Artist's Studio. Here there are 3 apartments and 2 studios. In both the Main House and the artist's Studio conversion you will find luxury seating and dining areas.
The hotel was formerly an artist's home and you will find original artwork featured throughout - making this hotel a living gallery. The hotel spares no modern convenience - guests can expect delicious food and wine, beautifully appointed rooms, first class service, in room televisions and wifi, boutique designer shops on site, as well as access to museums, first-class restaurants and wildlife on the doorstep.
An approximately 40-minute drive from Nairobi International Airport, depending on traffic.
Visits to the nearby giraffe sanctuary and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where you can see orphaned elephants and rhinos. The Karen Blixen Museum is also nearby.
