Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is the perfect place from which to take in the flamingo spectacle of Lake Nakuru. The lake becomes a pink sea as thousands of flamingo flock to its shores to nest, with guests able to take in this incredible view from the comfort of the lodge and their room. Flamingos are among 400 other bird species found in the area, along with large predators such as lion and leopard and the endangered species like the white rhino.
Accommodation at the lodge takes the form of 67 chalets, 3 of which are suites. All rooms include en-suite bathrooms with WC, showers and hot and cold running water. There are electrical sockets for charging along with mosquito nets over beds and patios that overlook the lake. Guests have a choice of single, double or triple rooms. The suites are naturally more luxurious with the Ziwa Suite offering the best the lodge has to offer; set aside from the main lodge it is ideal for honeymooners.
The main restaurant at the property is large, capable of accommodating 150 guests and serving up a range of sumptuous cuisine. Guests can also enjoy special dining options; a champagne breakfast in the wilderness is recommended. Activities at the lodge consist of game drives although a trip to the high Baboon Cliff is also on offer and a great place for a picnic.
A 2 hour drive from Nairobi.
Game drives, cultural interaction, bird watching and excursions to Baboon Cliff.
