Saruni Samburu

Located north of Samburu National Reserve in Kenya's wild north, Saruni Samburu is a 'design' lodge surrounded by 240,000 acres of private wildlife conservancy. Perched on a spectacular viewpoint with an all-round view of Northern Kenya all the way to the snow-covered Mount Kenya, Saruni Samburu has 6 villas, a lounge, dining room and two infinity pools, with the lodge overlooking a waterhole where the famous Samburu elephant, leopard, reticulated giraffe, Oryx and Grevy's zebra gather to drink.

Game drives take place in the Kalama Conservancy and Samburu National Reserve, and cultural immersion programs offer genuine insight into the ways of the Samburu people.

Saruni Samburu offers 6 villas (4 of which are large family villas) with luxurious interiors, open-sided walls and canvas-shaded decks. Saruni Samburu is renowned for delicious cuisine and each villa has its own dining area, offering self-contained privacy and magnificent views.

Kalama Airstrip is a 30 minute drive from the lodge.

Again a wonderful & beautiful lodge with amazing views from the mountain top. Private reserve was very dry & hot (38 c), so we travelled to the main Samburu reserve. Again excellent guide in John, with the highlight of tracking 4 cheetahs for 2.5 hours; witnessing a grants gazelle kill with no other vehicles around. Great food & staff.
