Located on a private peninsula of a small island, only 15 minutes flight from Mombasa, Funzi Keys presents a wonderful barefoot luxury experience. The property is surrounded by crisp white sand and the Indian Oceans warm turquoise waters. Incorporating Swahili coastal styling, with thatch, colourful materials and decoration, Funzi Keys is an excellent beachfront property ideal for those wishing to enjoy seclusion, privacy and wonderful African sunsets.
Accommodation provides excellent views out to sea, with rooms rustic but comfortable. The cottages are built from traditional stone and thatch and are very spacious and catch the pleasant sea breeze. All rooms feature a fan to stay cool, a bathroom, king sized four poster beds, colourful decor and a sitting area at the front of each cottage from which guests can admire the view. There are 9 sea front cottages and 8 sea view cottages to choose from, the latter featuring a Jacuzzi.
The main area of the property takes a similar form to the rooms with stone walls and high thatch ceiling. Split over two levels, downstairs guests will find a large dhow (small boat), a bar and a lounge area, while the dining room is upstairs. The cuisine served at Funzi is delicious and guests have the choice of when and even where they take their meals, be it in the dining room, by the pool or on the beach.
Around a 15 minute flight from Mombasa into the hotel's airstrip.
Boat trips, windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, deep sea and standard fishing, scuba diving and snorkelling and massage and beauty therapy.

Review of The Funzi Keys
Nice place. Lovely owners. Fantastic sandbar that comes up when the tide is down. However, beach directly on Funzi is clean, but more a mangrove., however the sand bar makes up for it. BBQ every night could get tired. Wish we knew that there is a private airstrip on Funzi, instead of the 2.5 hour drive from Mombasa.
Great place to relax and stunning rooms, very personal approach from charming owners, nothing was too much trouble.
