Asilia Ol Pejeta Camp is a relaxed tented camp set along the narrow Ewaso Ngiro River in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which is in central Kenya’s Laikipia Country. Dense with wildlife, there will be encounters with the Big 5, black and white rhino and famously the last 2 northern white rhino on the planet, under 24-hour guard. Other endangered animals on the conservancy include Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, and wild dog.
The solar and generator powered 7 tents (including 1 family tent) have flushing toilets, hot water bucket showers and spacious decks where you can while away a few hours in the afternoon just listening to the sounds of the bush. The main mess tent looks over the plains on the other side of the river. Here you will sip your morning coffee while watching weaver birds flutter around the fever trees and enjoy an evening glass of wine by the fireplace. Homemade meals are served communally in the mess tent and the produce is sourced from a local women’s co-op or other regional farmers.
