Small and intimate, Solio Lodge is the only lodge in the Solio Reserve in Northern Kenya's stunning Laikipia Plateau. The area is incredibly rich with wildlife and Solio is famed in Kenya for its unique and mind-blowing rhino viewing experiences. Fantastic views are another defining feature with vistas of Mount Kenya rising in the distance.
Only capable of accommodating 12 guests, the 6 cottages are very spacious with large windows to complement the view. Private sundecks look out onto the game sanctuary and provide tranquil and secluded spaces for you to relax.
As well as game drives within the conservancy you can also go horseback riding, walking or cycling within Solio's Ranch. The lodge's location allows for easy access to Mount Kenya by helicopter and the Aberdares by road, for trout fishing.

Holiday to Solio Lodge
Laikipia may need some development. Solio was acceptable, but I would not return. The fact that it is fenced, that it has no elephants or hippos, that leopards can hide in the more remote and inaccessible areas, reduced our enjoyment. The facilities and staff were excellent, however.
