Situated on the southern coast of Madagascar, Manafiafy Beach and Rainforest Lodge is an eco-friendly lodge which sits in a forest-fringed cove on a secluded white sand beach. Inland from the cove you will find mangrove forests which give way to breathtaking rainforests, home to lemur species, as well as a vast array of chameleons and birds. Spend your time relaxing by the sea or searching the forests and mangroves for endemic species of fauna and flora.
The lodge offers four luxury bungalows and one family villa which are discreetly tucked along the edge of the forest. The bungalows all have private wooden terraces with hammocks which are just inches from the sea where you can go for an early morning swim or watch the dugout canoes come and go in search of fish and lobsters.
The open kitchen serves a choice of cuisine including a mouthwatering feast of lobsters, oysters, mussels, and fresh fish, with a Malagasy flavour. Dine in the open thatched dining area or your private terrace. Before dinner marvel at the perfect sunset by the outdoor campfire or enjoy an aperitif in the lounge area by the fireplace.
Manafiafy is usually combined with its sister property, Mandrare River Camp. Between these two properties you can experience seven different ecosystems, encounter ten species of lemurs and learn about the various local cultures.
Scheduled charter flight or daily Air Tsaradia service to Fort Dauphin. Manafiafy is a 3-hour drive from here with a private shuttle service.
Daytime and night time walks in the rainforest, whale watching, sport fishing, motorboat trips into the mangroves, canoeing, open air massages, coastal trips with picnic lunch and visits to a local village, market and school.
