Masoala Forest Lodge is situated on Madagascar's northeast coast in a sheltered cove in the remote Masoala National Park. This exclusive lodge has fantastic views across Antongil Bay, a World Heritage Site and breeding ground for humpback whales.
With just 14 guests, Masoala Forest Lodge is a haven of tranquillity. Inspired by the traditional designs of the local Betsimisaraka tribe, the seven palm-thatched treehouses are elevated on stilted wooden platforms to provide guests with amazing views of the rainforest and ocean. Each have a private en-suite with hot water, a private veranda with a hammock, and private access to the beach.
The Beach House is the lodge's communal area which serves as a dining, lounge and bar area. Guests can dine on wholesome meals made from organic produce from the lodge gardens and fresh rainforest fruits and seafood provided by the local community. The Sea Deck is where guests can enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea, and sundowners.
Masoala Forest Lodge offers scheduled charter flights from Antananarivo every Wednesday and Sunday. Speedboats to the lodge take between one and a half - two hours depending on sea conditions.
