A simple lodge with an exclusive location, as the name suggests Domwe Island Adventure Camp is found on Domwe Island - the largest island on stunning Lake Malawi. Rising to 400m above sea level the island is separated from the shore by the thin Ilala Gap. At times, when the narrow Gap is dry, animals pass across from the mainland, hence why this small island, only 11km in circumference, is home to a number of mammal species.
The camp itself is set on the western side of the island and opens out onto a small sandy beach. Accommodation is tented, with three safari tents and two tent sites on offer. The safari tents are fully furnished and possess two beds while the tent sites are wooden platforms big enough for two regular-sized dome tents and covered by a thatch roof.
While the camp kitchen is fully stocked and has two full-time members of staff Domwe works off a self-catering basis, with guests preparing their own meals. The camp also possesses a bar and dining room. To explore the lake you can hire equipment from the camp, with snorkelling and kayaking on offer.
