Lovely hotel with fantastic staff who truly care about their guests. They were helpful, kind and supportive. The beachfront villas are the best - pay for the upgrade! The beach is lovely and service on the beach is a bonus! The sea is a little rocky (we were aware of this ad took our water shoes). The pool and facilities are all outstanding and the food and choices delicious. Have to say - the mini bar is beyond expensive and arrange taxi's yourself as the hotel adds 50%.

Paradise on earth. The staff were very acommidating by organising excursions for us. We loved the lunch spot where you could eat lunch in the pool! The staff were so happy to share the culture of the island. The private beach was quiet and the rum was delicious!

The hotel was beautiful, had a lovely time. The only things to mention were that the hotel was a bit isolated, although this was a plus in some ways, it would have been nice to be a bit closer to explore more of the island, but the remote location really was enjoyable once we had adjusted to the level of relaxation we needed to, i think if we had gone to Mauritius before Africa, we would have enjoyed it a bit more, as Africa filled us with adrenaline. The hotel reception staff were extremely helpful in arranging trips for us, and we visited a wildlife sanctuary type place where we went on a walk with the lions, and got to interact with them as well as interaction with cheetah too. Life changing experiences and in my opinion, the most attractive adventure available on the island. We have some amazing photographs to go with our memories from this day. The food in the hotel was, at times, fantastic, but very limited menus each day, heavily based on seafood which was disappointing to a small extent as neither of us are a fan of seafood, but there was always something else to get us by. The restaurant dress code was a disappointment however, i was told i could not enter in dress shorts and had to have long trousers, where as on all but one or two occasions, there were multiple other couples, mainly Asian, who were allowed into the dining area wearing pajamas or track suit bottoms and scruffy t-shirts. I did not mind having to obey a dress code, but did feel that there was a double standard going against us Overall the trip to Mauritius was a fantastic life experience, but i am not sure we would return to the same area, maybe try a different part of the island.

Angsana Balaclava was a beautiful resort and the beach front accommodations were like nothing we've ever stayed in

Beautiful, luxurious resort. Our room was amazing and included a private infinity pool on our balcony. Quiet resort - we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Staff was helpful and food was delicious. Beach was nice but not quite what we expected (not the white sand-turquoise water you think of for Mauritius, but our trip to Ile aux cerfs accomplished that). Drinks and non-included food quite expensive (esp compared to SA). The highlights were the beach style pool, the honeymoon dinner, our gorgeous room and the private infinity pool on our balcony.

Lovely accommodation and great service. The staff didn't originally pick up on the fact that we were on honeymoon but after a reminder were great and upgraded us. Lovely property and a great place to chill!!

Hotel was fantastic. My only gripe was the constant nickel and diming that left us with a hefty bill at the end of our stay. Also, the weather was just a tad too chilly to go swimming comfortably. They should have had heated pools. Also, beach was not what I expected, but that was negated by the great resort. Food and service was exceptional.
