The hotel service again was variable in quality, although when we did make comments they tried really hard to make up for it. I don't think we stayed for long enough. I would still like to try the Lux hotel in the Maldives one day!

Accomodation and setting were 5 stars. The beach and backdrop of le morne mountain gives it a great setting. The service was good but inconsistent depending on the staff members, some were 5 stars, others 2 stars. The food was good but not as good as would be expected from a 5 star resort. All inclusive package was comprehensive and covered a wide range of food and drinks.

The hotel itself was nice, but not a 5 star experience. We ended up upgrading our room when we saw the room that was originally booked for our stay. The original room was nothing special, and smelled like smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. Our new room was nice but came with a big price tag. The service was ok at this hotel, but nothing compared to Simbambili. There was a lot of confusion around what meal plan we were on. We were originally told that we were on an all inclusive plan (according to our voucher), but found out on the last day of our stay (via a waiter-- not management) that we were only on half-board. There was a lot of back and forth with the hotel staff before this was resolved. I think the original issue stemmed from Mauritours-- the travel agency that we were booked through. Nikki was amazing and was able to resolve this for us, and we did not have to pay for the drinks that we had on the all-inclusive plan. For future reference, we did not think Mauritours was up to par. When we were picked up at the airport by one of their drivers the driver thought we were meant to go to an entirely different hotel than the hotel that we had booked with. There was a lot of confusion. The driver did not want to take us to the correct hotel. They also came to pick us up one hour earlier than they should have on our departure. It seemed that communication was off every time we needed to deal with them.

Lux was beautiful. The best part about it is how close the rooms are to the beach. You literally feel like you're waking up on the water. They had tons of activities to do to keep busy, which is great for people like us. I would recommend swimming with the dolphins. At the same time they had several ways to just veg and relax either on the beach, at one of the 2 pools or at the spa which I would also recommend :) The folks at lux also acknowledged our honeymoon with a complimentary bottle of champagne and dinner which again, made it feel more special. The resort was also meticulous which gets a big star in my book. The service was good. Everyone was friendly but extremely slow. There was one instance where we had dinner on the beach, we were sitting out there for 30 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. They were also 15 minutes late for a wake up call that I had scheduled. We were fine with it in the beginning but towards the end of the week we were growing pretty impatient with all of the waiting.

The superior room was a standard hotel room, but the other areas of the resort were spectacular. The restaurants had great food, the bar was always accessible, and the water sports were a great way to pass the day.

Lux Le Morne was incredibly beautiful! Beautiful beach, beautiful accommodations, very nice staff. However, we felt that for an all-inclusive package, it was a little lacking. Perhaps it was b/c we were coming from Dulini which was just so amazing. However, even though it was all-you-can-eat, we didn't think the food was that great. And the activities that were included, such as paddle-boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, were nice, but again, we just came from a safari, so it was pretty hard to top.
