Mauritius has Winter and Summer seasons at opposite times of the year to Europe and North America. With warmth and humidity, the Summer season in Mauritius is from November to April. The Winter season can be cool and dry and is from June and September. Cyclone season is from January to March and winds can be strong in the east coast in July and August.

  • Beach Time: the best time to visit for warmer and drier weather is from August to October. These months are less humid with warm days - perfect for sheltered beaches.
  • Horticulture: October is springtime when flowers and wildlife comes into bloom.
  • Snorkelling and diving: The water is the clearest in May.
  • Water sports: For kitesurfing, the winds pick up in the south and east cost in July and August.
  • Shoulder Season Rates: June - September
