Combining her lifelong passion for travel with a love of all things creative, Liane is living the work dream as she heads the marketing function at Mahlatini. With a career spanning almost 20 years in the marketing communications industry, Liane has nurtured brands in diverse sectors including food & drink, finance, education and travel & tourism. An unwavering focus on the customer and the delivery of a compelling brand experience remain her top priorities.
Africa's amazing landscapes, wildlife and culture offer up such rich content opportunities that makes her role of inspiring clients to visit and return with Mahlatini a genuine pleasure.
She first visited Africa on a windsurfing trip to Cape Town in her carefree twenties, before returning on her honeymoon to Botswana for her first safari experience which truly ignited a love for the African bush. More recently she has tested out a number of our trips with her husband and young kids who are are now also fully subscribed members of the 'Mahla-Tini' club.
Experiencing your favourite places with your favourite people is surely what life is all about. Taking our kids on a road-trip around South Africa when they were only toddlers was adventurous but so rewarding. Everywhere we went, the kids were treated like mini-VIPs and it was thrilling to revisit some of our favourite spots and see them afresh through their eyes - the penguins at Boulders Beach, the cable car ride up Table Mountain and of course their excitement at spotting the big cats on safari.
North Island, Seychelles - one can always dream!
Angama Mara, Kenya. I will never forget taking in that stuninng view over the Masai Mara...the horizon literally appeared to stretch forever. The contemporary, yet authentic nature of the property's architecture and interior design is absolute perfection. No surprise it's been voted as Africa's No. 1 resort by Conde Nast Traveller.
The gentle giraffes - I find their striding movement across the plains so elegant and mesmerising; almost hypnotic. I have a long-standing breakfast date arranged with the beautiful Rothschild giraffes in Giraffe Manor...however, their waiting list just seems to get longer!
Watching Mahlatini grow from a relatively small player in the sector to becoming one of the most respected UK brands in luxury African travel. The recognition from our clients is always the most important, but it is personally very satisfying to see our reputation build with the top travel media and influencers. Endorsement through successive wins in our industry's most prestigious awards is the icing on the cake.
