The iconic La Mamounia has been a hotel since the early 1900s and everyone from FDR to Churchill has stayed here. Jacques Garcia gave it an extensive facelift in 2009 creating a design sensation. La Mamounia boasts 135 light-filled rooms, 71 suites, and 3 secluded Riads tucked away from view. The décor is refined, understated luxury, and deluxe category rooms and higher have either a furnished terrace or balcony. Asian, Mediterranean, Italian, and Moroccan cuisine are served in the 4 restaurants at La Mamounia. Each restaurant has a bar area to match and for daytime dining, sit poolside at the Pavillon de la Piscine. For relaxation, head to the beautiful gardens or the expansive spa with hammams and twin beauty salons. There’s a fitness room, tennis courts to keep you active, too. The hotel is right inside the medina walls, making it easy to walk to major sights and shopping. To head further afield, the hotel can arrange a car ride out to the desert.
