Located on Ibo Island, the well situated Ibo Island Lodge is prime beach front property. Lavishing guests with views of the Indian Ocean's turquoise waters, accommodation takes the form of 3 lovingly restored mansions, which are over 100 years old. To further the tropical ambiance the lodge is surrounded by lush plants and gardens, with swaying palms and the bright colouring of the frangipani flower.
The historic nature of the lodge can be felt throughout, particularly in the rooms, and perfectly blended with all of the modern touches to make you feel at home. Decor is traditionally Mozambican with each of the 14 rooms boasting high ceilings, stylish pillars and possessing such modern touches as ceiling fans and air conditioning. Guests can choose from garden, sea facing, or historic room types while the private villa, Paradiso which can sleep 12, is also on offer.
Fine dining is observed by Ibo, with delicious cuisine very much on the menu. There is an array of dishes on offer from seafood treats to Mozambican delights, all prepared by local chefs. Cultural interaction is a big part of a stay on Ibo, adding a further layer of authenticity to your experience and providing a deeper understanding of this deeply historical place.
