As the name suggests Central Lodge is centrally located in the town of Keetmanshoop, both offering a comfortable place to stop over en-route to the Fish River Canyon, Luderitz or the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in South Africa.
This hotel owner would like his guests to feel as though they are in a home away from home. Indeed the cheery, yellow building is a welcoming sight after a days driving in the dusty arid region. Rooms are set around a lovely green well-manicured courtyard and are spacious and comfortable. The rooms offer air-conditioning and tea/coffee faculties, a TV and telephone and are furnished with comfortable beds, a writing desk, two chairs and a coffee table. The small en-suite bathrooms contain a flush toilet, basin and shower. Four of the double rooms do have a larger bathroom to include a spa bath. Two of the rooms can accommodate families with a double bed and three single beds.
A swimming pool is available for guests with outdoor furniture set up on the lawn surrounding the pool providing a relaxation area for a drink or a quiet lunch. Central Lodge also offers an à la carte restaurant and a fully licenced bar which is a good place to meet fellow guests and town locals.
Set in the heart of the capital of Southern Namibia, Keetmanshoop. Just over 200 km south of Windhoek.
For the amateur paleontologist there are some fascinating fossils to be seen at a nearby farm. You should also keep an eye out for Rock Dassies as you stroll around the Quiver Trees.
