Set amidst the red dunes of the Kalahari Desert, Kalahari Anib Lodge is a lush green oasis under high palm trees. Accessible by sedan car the lodge is 30km from Mariental making it a good overnight stop if travelling between Windhoek and the south or continuing to the Kgalagadi. The area surrounding Kalahari Anib is abundant with green acacia trees and yellow grasses that grow in the red sand. Animals to be found around the lodge include springbok, gemsbok, ostrich, zebra and wildebeest. Inhabiting the dunes and dune valleys are also jackal, hare and porcupine. Bird lovers will find huge colonies of weaver birds in the lodge's grounds as well as a possibility of seeing the Kori Bustard.
The lodge offers 52 room in total including 30 Twin Standard, 17 Twin Comfort and 5 Family Comfort Rooms. All rooms feature air-conditioning, heating, en-suite bathrooms, safes, mosquito nets and a verandah.
The standard rooms are set around a courtyard and face the garden with the swimming pool in the centre. The comfort rooms are bigger and are set back nearer the guest parking and a second pool offering better views of the dunes. Their private verandahs also overlook a small waterhole which is often visited by animals such as eland and oryx.
The main building of the lodge houses the reception, which also doubles as a curio shop, as well as the restaurant, bar, verandah and two swimming pools. Guests can dine inside or outside.
