Found on the Okonjima reserve, Okonjima Bush Camp is small and intimate. There are eight thatched chalets and one honeymoon suite. Chalets are warmly decorated in a rich African style, with thatch roofs, traditional ochre walls, comfortable queen size beds and large windows presenting excellent views of the surrounding area. All rooms possess en suite bathrooms with a toilet and large showers, comfy leather chairs and sofas. The rooms are well spaced with around 90m between them, providing an affirming sense of privacy.
The honeymoon suite with glass sliding doors is light and airy and promises guests excellent vistas to enjoy. There is a fireplace, an outside 'bush' shower, a bath and a lounge area to relax in.
The main area presents guests with authentic rustic charm; enjoy a delicious meal in the dining room while looking out upon the nearby waterhole and the animals that frequent it to quench their thirst.
As Okonjima reserve is home to the Africat Foundation guests are given the opportunity to encounter big cats up close. This is a huge attraction for visitors to Okonjima and an excellent opportunity for learning more about these incredible predators.
Okonjima is half-way between Windhoek and Etosha National Park approximately a 2 hour 30 minute drive.
The Okonjima reserve is home to the Africat Foundation, enjoy viewing big cats close up. Guided game drives, night drives, leopard, hyena and cheetah tracking.
