Found on Namibia's Skeleton Coast, Sam's Giardino is a quaint guest house only a few minutes' walk from the Swakopmund town centre. Set against the backdrop of charming gardens, the small hotel is run by Swiss owner Samuel Egger who strives to ensure guests are made welcome. Staff are very friendly and the property provides a warm base from which travellers can explore the area or a comfortable stop-over before moving on to another location.
Sam's Giardino is very small, with only 9 rooms on offer, but that adds to its intimacy. All rooms feature heating for the cooler winter months and en suite bathrooms, which possess a toilet and shower. Rooms that are in the upstairs of the property boast charming skylights, while those on the ground floor open out onto the gardens in which the guesthouse is set.
The main area of the lodge offers a comfortable lounge area to relax in and sun loungers in the gardens provide a place to top up a tan and bask in the warm Namibian sun. Meals are served in the dining area, which provides a wonderful breakfast spread and delicious dinners in the evening. Guests are treated to an excellent selection of wine, a passion of Sam, the owner, with wine tasting on offer.
Around a 2 minute drive from Swakopmund town centre which is approximately 4 hour's drive from Windhoek.
Exploration of the surrounding area along with a host of adventure activities, from sand boarding and other high octane sports to boat trips.
