The Mushara Outpost is situated in its own 2,500 hectare reserve, with a substantial collection of birdlife and wildlife, and it is just 10km from the world famous Etosha National Park. The lodge has only 8 rooms which are custom-made tent-like wood and canvas structures which are nestled on the banks of an ancient dry riverbed, known as "omuramba" in the Herero language. Each of the tents is 1.5m above the ground with a private wooden deck.
The lodge's main house is styled like an old farm house with high walls, corrugated iron roof and a large wrap-around veranda. The ambiance is similar to that of a well lived-in house: friendly and extremely comfortable. Delicious meals are shared at the large communal dining table or around the open-air swimming pool.
Around a 5 and a half hour drive from Windhoek.
Game drives in the Etosha National Park and birding.
