Discover Camp Kipwe

Found in the Twyfelfontein region of Damaraland, Camp Kipwe is surrounded by large granite boulders, with wonderful outlooks over a rocky desert-scape. The region is home to a variety of ancient Bushmen rock carvings, which will be of particular interest to guests who would like to learn more about the history of the area. The camp is ideal for those seeking a private experience in a remote part of the world; the perfect escape from life's everyday bustle, Camp Kipwe is small and unique with its 9 rooms and one suite blending with the landscape and guaranteeing intimacy.

The rooms are quite literally built into granite boulders and make creative use of what the landscape has to offer, incorporating many aspects, including mopane branches, to provide a very authentic and distinctive flavour. Bathrooms are en suite, providing guests with hot water via wood-burning boilers. The rooms possess domed roofs and outside decks for guests to take in the view.

Raised above the ground and holding similar domed roof designs as that found in the rooms, the camp's central area is friendly and welcoming and a great place to relax. It is comprised of 4 thatched 'domes' and provides a lounge, dining room, bar, gift shop and a boma area for cooking meals over a fire. Guests are treated to splendid views of the Aba Huab riverbed and can truly unwind in the camp swimming pool.
