Discover Suricate Tented Lodge

Suricate Tented Kalahari Lodge is located in the southwestern region of the Kalahari Desert in the 10,000ha Intu Afrika Kalahari Private Game Reserve (also home to Zebra Kalahari Lodge and Camelthorn Kalahari Lodge). The reserve is characterised by ancient red dunes sparsely covered by Camelthorn trees and other unique vegetation. There is a high density of game to be viewed here in this breathtaking landscape, particularly during the rainy season (January - March) when the muddy pans fill up with water attracting many animals.

The lodge is set on a majestic sand dune mirroring the vast plains of the Auob wetlands. There are 11 standard tents, complete with minibars, safes, mosquito nets, an open-air en-suite bathroom and a deck. The 12th room is the more private honeymoon suite which also has its own plunge pool.

A communal dining room in the main building with a fireplace and loungers is just one of the many settings where one can enjoy meals at Suricate. There is also a long deck outside for dining, an infinity pool and the fire pit is a popular place for drinks in the evening. There are many activities on offer and guests at Suricate can choose to explore or have dinner at one of the neighbouring lodges on the reserve. The most popular activity is the Dune Dinner where guests get to enjoy a meal atop a red sand dune and have the privilege of watching a gorgeous African sunset, followed by a star-filled sky.
