Hoodia Desert Lodge
Located on the banks of the Tsauchab river Hoodia Desert Lodge is only a 20 minute drive to the Sesriem Gate, making it an ideal location to visit Sesriem Canyon and the Sossusvlei dunes in the Namib Naukluft Park. Hoodia Desert Lodge is family-owned and managed by Thomas & Henreza Becker who are enthusiastic about welcoming their guests from all over the world.
The lodge offers only 11 luxury chalets all a great distance from each other to assure privacy in this breathtaking environment. The chalets are partly tented with an indoor bathroom air-conditioning, an open air shower and generous bathtub, coffee station, fridge, mosquito net, private shaded deck and stargazing platform. The rooms face either the plains and Namib-Naukluft mountains or the river. The Hoodia Desert bar is the perfect place to enjoy a sundowner or night-cap and the swimming pool, set on a raised deck and sculpted into natural rock, is a absolute necessity in the hot, Namibian desert sun. Hoodia's Restaurant serves its guests superb traditional and international cuisine alongside South African wines.
Although not the closest lodge to the dunes, Hoodia offers attentive service, tasty food and a tranquil and beautiful setting. It is luxurious without being overly-formal.
